At a guess he likely tied a noose of some sheeting/ belt around his neck & the other end tied from a higher
Point & then dangled by his neck until he was dead.

IF you really want to kill yourself, you can do it in almost any situation.  For example, I've seen a con tie a bed sheet to the end of his bed and then around his neck, and simply lean forward with all his weight.  Incredible to think that all he would have had to do was lean back and the pressure would have been gone, but the fucker went through with it and ended it.

Which was it, sheeting or a belt? He'd need to have gotten the belt from a guard. I don't believe prisoners are allowed the have them. If bedding is allowed it is made of paper. Inmates are often placed naked in suicide cells, which are usually bare concrete, often without bedding (to prevent hanging by using bed sheets), and under frequent or continuous observation by guards.

Inmates are allowed to have a belt if they're in general population.  They also have regular bedding as well.
When an inmate is on suicide watch, they are not naked.  Not sure where you got this info from lol  They are given a one piece suit that is referred to as the barney rubble suit.  It's very thick and is considered tear resistant.  They are also given a blanket made from the same material.  An officer is placed in front of the inmates cell to continuously monitor them.  This is considered to be one of the worst jobs in the entire jail.

Clearly, you are much better informed on these matters than I am. I could say I got the idea they were naked from watching 'OZ' but instead I goggled it and to be honest a whole lot of possibilities were presented including being naked.

Oh ok.  Tv shows depict prison MUCH differently than what it is actually like.  I can only confirm the process that NYS uses, so I can't say how other states handle a suicide watch, but I highly doubt they would be nude in any situation.
