Hollywood is just a symbol of the entertainment industry. Movies and Tv are both Hollywood, run by the same companies and people.

Das Boot (2018 TV series) is another example, this German series totally outgun all (nice & clean) Hollywood produced Sub's movies.

I don't want to see a druggie playing the role of Superman.  I don't want to see a Social JustUs Warrior version of the Man of Steel.  I want Truth, Justice and the American way.

Christopher Reeve owned the dual role of Clark Kent and Kal El.  His first two Superman films were good and then went down the toilet, especially the fourth one.  What a floater.

Fuck Hollyweird.  They will fuck with what is right to make it left.  FTN.

I'm not sure I agree Stunt. Henry Cavill looks pretty damn good as Superman I think.

I mean, isn't he more muscular than Christopher Reeve?

Also, Thor isn't that bad at all.

"1"

Cavill is done. Wont be playing Superman anymore.

George Reeves was the first Superman.

Actually, it was Kirk Alyn in an early series of short films.   Noel "the Body" Neill played Lois Lane and later came on the set of the TV series taking over for Phyllis "the Scream" Coates.  Both Noel and Kyrk can be seen in the special TV presentation of 1978's "Superman" as they portray young Lois Lane's parents on the train where Lois looks out the window and sees young Clark Kent running along side.

I still wonder if there was any glass in George Reeves' glasses on the TV show!  I can't see any no matter how hard I look, LOL!

The mad scientist was voiced by the same actor that did Popeye.

No...there wasn't...this was common in film and TV so the audience can "read" the eyes better...

:) it was always funny when reeves would just stand there and take the bullets until the gun ran out. the criminal would then throw the gun at him and he would duck it.

Speaking of which ..."Action #1 introduced Superman. It is the genesis of the Golden Age of comics. A copy of Action #1 in VF/NM condition sold for more than $3,000,000!"

I'm 40% positive that I had this comic book as a kid in my comic book collection, but I have no idea what happened to it except I don't recall throwing comic books away.

It could possibly still be in storage in an old box in one of the grandkid's attic.

PS ... one nephew was responsible for setting up that original comic book cover scene in the Supe movie in which Branden Routh (spelling?) played the Supe role.

Small world!

Back when he could "only" jump an eighth of a mile and nothing short of an exploding shell could harm him.  His creators were inspired by Edgar Rice Burroughs "John Carter".  Superman is my favorite comic hero, followed by Batman.

I have all of the Fleischer Brothers Superman 'toons on laser disc.  If memory serves, they wanted to have him fly instead of just jump around because jumping around looked ridiculous!  I recall seeing that first comic in the early 60s but it wasn't mine.  I have no memory of whose it was other than they were a friend of  mine.

Routh did an admirable job in paying homage to Christopher Reeve.  The dame playing Lois?  Not so much.  The film had some good moments but overall I did not care for it.

That is the scene where he catches the Daily Planet Globe, correct?  Cool... :)
