Most regular sized guys look like manlets as compared to Wayne who 6'5" and built.. Like most folks Zac looks different in various photos. He's also rather metro looking which isn't going to appeal to most men who are superman fans. Women on the other hand, might go for Zac over Wayne. The original actors who played superman had fairy standard physiques. George Reeves was 6'2" tall and had an unremarkable physique as I remember. Steve Reeves was impressive as superman in many aspects. His stature was great at 6'4" and 225 lbs. He best captured the altruistic sincerity of the character and he was also able to embody Clark Kent in more ways than just donning a pair of glasses.

Lots of talk about George and Steve, what about Christopher?

As a sideline to this Superman/Superboy movie topic ....

If you know anything about this $4,000,000,000 WME/UFC transaction .... you may be wondering if any of those high powered WME executives are showing any interest in purchasing the IFBB.

Like some of you GetBiggers, I am also no longer a Superman movie fan ... nor have I seen a Supe comic book sinc the one in which he die, BUT ... I would definitely pay three bucks (cheap ticket prices here in Vegas) if some new and anknown character got the role ....just to see if Hollywood agrees with what I personally think that Superman should look like.

BTW ... I do have friends who regularly work on and within these superhero productions ...but I no longer know anyone in the 'casting offices'.

But as some of you more knowlegeable GetBiggers know .... the William Morris Endeavor (WME) agency bought the UFC for four-billion dollars (some say five-billion) so it is possbly that you will be seeing MMA fighters  in major roles within major Hollywood productions ... soon ... if not already.

"Hollywood" doesn't drive what Superman should look like, the people who buy tickets do. It might be interesting to find out if the mases agree with your concept of Superman.

Christopher Reeve was 6' 4" tall.  Steve Reeves was 6' 1" tall.  George Reeves is listed as having been 6' 1" in height.

For me, Christopher Reeve is the best example of someone playing the role of Superman.  George Reeves did fine on TV and of course Steve Reeves never took on the role.

Should he look like Danny DeVito or Woody Allen instead?

Of course not.

But you certainly don't need a guy with 20" biceps and a 54" chest in order to make the character believable.

Christopher Reeve clearly proved this.

When I was reading about the different actors who played Superman, Christopher Reeves got the most accolades, mainly for his ability to humanize and capture the essence of the character, especially as Clark Kent. It was very sad when Christopher Reeves suffered a horse-riding accident in 1995 and ended up completely paralyzed.  He was not able to breathe without the help of a respirator. He founded the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation in 1998 to promote research on spinal cord injuries. He died in 2004 from cardiac arrest.

He would have been better off dying when the accident happened and not hanging on for years.

You are correct.  I briefly knew someone that suffered a similar horrid fate as Reeve.   :'( :'(

I think you'd have to ask him about this, only you can't. I believe if this happened to me, I'd prefer to die. But then, the will to live is powerful.
