Vancouver, WA is a bedroom community across the Columbia river from Portland, OR. When I last checked, more then 32 cases were in Washington, with only one case in Oregon. And yet, the media reports suggest it is a Portland problem. This outbreak is likely to spread to Oregon unless parents immediately begin vaccinating there kids and themselves if they've never been vaccinated.

I read that schools are demanding proof of the vaccination for both staff and students. I had all my shots as a kid, but there is no way to prove this 70 years later, as best as I know. I get a pneumonia shot each year. I avoid the flu shot because I've never had the flu....why mess with a good thing?

I'm starting to believe this argument more and more.  When I was born we were vaccinated for a few things (measles, mumps, polio, whooping cough) now they are vaccinated for over 30 things.  We have an immune system for a reason.  It seems all these vaccines are weakening our immune systems.  I know several people with autistic kids and that was unheard of decades ago.  Of course the scientific community denies there is any correlation between this and vaccines but would they admit it if it were found to be the cause?  Think of the billions of dollars in lawsuits.
