Author Topic: The Weather Channel Is Now Black Owned & Operated (Read 4458 times)

He got into the television production side of things in the early 90's. First he had an interview show, then a stand up comedy show, showcasing young comedians. They weren't very good, but they were safe and didn't rock the boat, so they got syndicated a lot to stations that needed filler for the very late night slots (2am - 4am).

From there, he threw money into safe documentary and lifestyle shows that had high syndication value. He also bought into a few digital stations, so he reaps a lot of cash from those.

Smart to buy the weather channel tho? We don't need a TV channel to find out about the weather anymore. If it turns a profit by just showing the weekly forecast, I say it's a cartel front for laundering dollars.

He got it cheap, the last sale of it was for around $3 billion. It still bills well, and gets good viewership during major storms. They're slowly trying to change it into a general interest channel also. Throwing money into natural disaster documentaries and tv movies, weather sci-fi, etc...

That's interesting. Seems like you know a lot about all of this.

I just wonder if they'll be smart enough to avoid "global warming" and "climate change" propaganda docs during late fall/early spring when bigger snow storms have a funny way of happening surrounded by days in the 60-70's in the midwest?

Ha, I just looked The Weather Channel's schedule. Lots of scripted reality tornado chasing, prospecting, and rescue shows. It's hilarious, but I guess it's what's needed to turn a buck.
