Have been busy shouveling out the snow in Tahoe, Way too much snow up there this year but I guess it's good for the ski resorts.

Had an interesting past few weeks assisting family and friends with snowfall problems up in Tahoe ... mostly digging out excessive snow and checking cabins to ensure all was well.

Wanted to to some skiing but had no time and little desire after too damn much work.

Too damn much snow this year but the ski resorts are happy and the northen Cal draught is apparently over.

All of which got me interested to learn how the north and south parts of California get the water that they need to survive.

An extremey interesting subject which I hope to expound on once I smarten up a bit.

Presently planning another Tahoe trip when the melt starts up that way.

That makes sense: 30 inches of snow in 24 hours in Tahoe at one point. Roofs can cave in under less.

Have you gone to that museum that’s on Interstate 5 between Bakersfield and LA? It does not cover the Colorado River piece but it goes into lots of detail on how the Northern Sierra Nevada water gets to LA (plus for agriculture in the Valleys) with excellent mockups of the canal system.

TOMMy, Is that the HYATT in Incline? I once owned some property in Incline (Satellite Drive above the golf course) and visited the casino ang the restaurant more than once back in them good olddays.

MPH, I'm totally familier with the "5" between the SF Bay Area and LA but I don't recall ever seeing a museum along that route.

I plan to Google it and stop there soon.

Thanks for the "Welcome back", Prudence, but I never was really gone......Just spent some time shouveling five feet (+) of cold white stuff while TommyW and Taco enjoyed the beauty of Lake Tahoe ... all thehigh-alt trails of which I'm pretty damn familiar with.

Even the trail in which the park rangers came to the rescue!
