Back in October, Brochu posted on Instagram about tampering with her roommate Chennel Rowe's belongings to make her sick.

She bragged about rubbing tampon blood on Rowe's bag, pouring moldy clam dip into her face lotion, spitting in her coconut oil and inserting her toothbrush "where the sun doesn't shine."

She also mocked Rowe's weave and captioned a photo with "this bitch legit bought a box of fucking hair."

After Rowe moved out of their dorm for health reasons, Brochu boasted about how she "finally got rid of her roommate," who she called "Jamaican Barbie."

She was not given special treatment!  She was given diversion.  Diversion is available in some places for first time offenders to give them a chance to wipe their record clean. 

I have been in a diversion program.  There was every race in America represented in the orientation class....nothing special or privileged about it, and it is not a free pass.  It's the shittiest 6-12 months of your life assuming you don't later go to jail for violation of terms, doing something worse down the road, or get some terrible disease b4 you're 60+ when everyone falls to shit a little bit.

Her nickname for the girl was Jamaican Barbie.........is there a chance that the black girl was a snotty, entitled, bitchy little twat that just happened to be black?  That's not racist.

Let's say her roommate was a white polish girl named Penny, and she did all of the same shit and on social "Jamaican Barbie" was replaced with "Princess Pollock Penny"....would anyone give a shit at all, let alone would it make national news and be called a hate crime?

Why do these students have so much trouble with their black roommates?

Yang, a senior chemistry major, was charged Dec. 20 with poisoning his roommate's food, drink and mouthwash with thallium over several months, causing the victim, Juwan Royal, bouts of dizziness and vomiting. Royal was so sickened that on two occasions in March campus police were called to his aid, authorities said.

Investigators think Yang bought the odorless, colorless chemical, once sold as rat poison, online, Morganelli said.

He was initially charged in April with vandalism and ethnic intimidation after Royal, who is black, found racist graffiti in the room.

Police said Yang wrote the N-word and "GET OUT OF HERE" in marker on Royal's desk in their room at Warren Square and also trashed Royal's television and bed, the Morning Call reported.

All colleges should have individual rooms. So much conflict goes on in these dual rooms. Colleges telling you to live with a stranger is a recipe for disaster.  My daughter who is a doctor started college in a two person room, then a college apartment. She got on track academically when she was in a one person room. She dealt  with party types, academic zeros who couldn't give a damn about college, and assorted problems kids. She made life long friends but none of them were her roommates.

My other daughter went to another college where they had 4 to an apartment. They try to group by major which is a great thing for academics. They were all in the sciences. She made life long friends with the girls in her dorm.

in my second year of college the freshman class had to be placed four to  a room due to increased attendance. imagine that situation where you have four different personalities to get on each others nerves.
