you get better leg development by doing real squat with 225 lbs , than that machine fully loaded ....I doubt Dexter can do squats at 49 or so ...... so that's probably why he does so many sets in such machine  .

He can squat just fine but I personally haven't seen any trainers do real squats with any of the pro's. I personally think it's needed. I usually rotate regular squats with machine squats but IMO real squats are a must. Dexters age has zero to do with it. The "intensity" in that video was fine and he trained heavy. He usually trains heavy on legs.

I’ve never seen him do squats ever, as far back as 2004, never seen it

But that doesn’t matter, at his age he’s only going to go down hill as far as leg development goes, from a competitive stand point compared to his younger peers  (he placed 6th or 7th at the O, his worse showing in decades)

Levrone was squatting like crazy for his comeback and didn’t do him well
