Also he paid NO INCOME TAX FOR 8 OUT OF THE 10 YEARS because of 'depreciation'. Whaaaaat? Kinda sounds like he intentionally set up some of those businesses for failure to avoid paying taxes!!

Actually have to complement him on his tax strategy, lets face it its not like the government spend the income it recieves well. He's done nothing wrong claiming depreciation is allowed and if his portfolio is large enough for him to claim it and off set his tax, props to him. Thats the type of guy I want running my business,or as a tax accountant I'm not a huge fan either, more of a traditional republican, but overpaying taxes for a bloated over paid public service along with supporting the ever growing welfare class, minimise your tax where you can I say.

so.... what about the average joe's that write everything off.... end up paying nothing.... i know alot of folks that grin like they are a wiley fox and brag how they worked the system.... so... it's ok for them,,?? half America rips off the system...... my whore of an ex would only accept cash or checks for hairstyling (whorestyling).... only deposit half of the checks..... keep the deposit slips and claim that as income.... and then play the poor single mom card....

What people are forgetting is to write off that loss, he would have had to turnover a lot of money, employed a lot of people so whilst he might have not paid company tax, he would have paid and contributed to a lot of other taxes along the way. Not saying its right but a lot of governments around the world accept this with multi nationals to a point, as they might be able to avoid company tax but they generate lots of jobs and other taxes.
This type of tax strategy has effectively strangled small business and is the main driving force of globalisation, I'm not a fan but apparently its part of the game that is modern capitalism.
