So basically it was as to be expected. One was a great movie and the rest have each tailed off a bit to finally being just terrible. 4 was horrendous as a movie. Good if you like no storyline or acting, though.

My guess..He took over his father's ranch, which was left to John Rambo in his father's will. He hired or took in a caretaker to help out, which is the grandmother. The grandma had a grand daughter who's mother had died. Rambo looked after the granddaughter like it was his daughter. That's how I saw it.
