Jusup defeated Ray Mentzer in the heavyweight class of the IFBB 1979 World Amateur championships....the IFBB Mr Universe contest.

Jusup went on to win several more top contests. Ray didn't win again after his 1979 Mr America contest.

I seem to remember that Jusup was also interested in philosophy.

Is dying in your 70’s considered early?

When the life expectancy of Germany is 80 and he died at 71 I do think it's early. He's a guy who was famous for exercising.

I sort of agree it's in poor taste. Jusup is the sort of bodybuilder that we weren't apparently going to speak about on here until he died. That was a question had I had been wondering about for a while.
