milennials employees suck

anyone else have this problem? these fuckers are worthless, 99 percent of them at least.. the entitlement, the phones, the laziness, the lingo, and just the plain stupidity... I honestly didn't think it was this bad.. I fired one last week for being 15 minutes late, 3 days in a row... he was warned  and was shocked when it really happened... and im just waiting for an excuse to get rid of the other one... id rather do the work myself or hire an illegal or a senior citizen... these kids are a waste

Who can we blame for this, gen-X'ers for raising these SOBs?  Boomers for spoiling their grand kids?  Or is it smart phones and social media?

Well it's your generations crappy parenting. Telling them "they can be anything they want" etc. leads to self entitlement. Thinking they are better etc. for no real reason.

Reality check ensues eventually. But often too late.

I believe that as well.... competition discouraged, everyone is equal, stress is to be avoided, my opinion matters, Im special, ect… it all makes me nauseous...

that could be too... I was waiting for the kids mommy to call after I fired him.. since he still lives w her at 25 years old.

It's the schooling system combined with flaky parents who believe that their kids are "special". Schooling system includes 4 year universities.

Over the span of the past 10 years I have hired well over 30 4-year college grads for my tech biz. The firing rate is about 50% in less than 6 months. They all interview well - I think they are prepped by the colleges. But when it finally comes to day to day work ethic or simple common sense- hahahaha. They suck.

The absolutely very best employees I have are from 2 year community colleges and have worked somewhere else for a few years before coming to me. People from this background simply get shit done. I will never hire another fresh out of 4 year college graduate again. The sense of self importance and entitlement is sickening.

I also had the opportunity to hire a few home-schooled teens as interns. Unbelievable- best young employees I have ever seen.

Well, that's the Generation who was told they could be anything they wanted in their upbringing. So they all thought they're gonna be self-made millionaires banging lingerie models, professional athletes or movie stars.

Now reality kicks in and they have to work for a douche like yourself for minimum wage. No wonder they're frustrated :D

What's anyone's experience with hireing x-military?

You all may not agree with this but whenever I run into a lost 'kid' or young trouble-maker, I encourage them to sign up in the military...  and then let the military do their best to shake the shit out of him.

It worked for me ... and I'm pretty damn greatful.

As a 25 yr old in the blue collar sector I’ve actually been told to
tone down my work ethic by the gen x boomers. But I get a long with them pretty well, I just think they’re burnt out from the work.

"Hi, I am Jamie, I have a first class degree in Electronic Eng. from Oxford".

"That's nice, make us all some coffee please".

I laughed my ass off, gradded with a first class elec comms degree, and made coffee when asked.
