Just in case there are any members that are not familiar with US politics (foreigners, young Americans or professional bodybuilders), Donald Trump has been impeached by one body of congress known as the house of representatives. This does not mean that he will be removed. There are more steps in place for something like that to take place. Now, this impeachment issue goes for a vote in the senate, the other body that composes congress (senate + house of representatives = congress). The senate is majority Republican, by a ratio of 53-47. This trial in the Senate holds the final authority on whether to convict Trump and remove him from office, or to acquit him. Conviction and removal requires 67 votes.

The odds of him being truly impeached (convicted and removed) are very slim.

As a Canadian I prefer to allow the people of America to drive the narrative surrounding the political issues in their country, however. If I may . . . Can anyone explain how they do not interpret Trump's actions regarding the solicitation of information on Biden and the withholding of democratically approved funds - taxpayers money - as not being an abuse of power? He was attempting to cheat again. Or ( again) who on this board has seen any increase in their buying power because of this AMAZING economy? Trump put that tax break in for HIM and his lenders. Fact.

And for what its worth, the only reason he does not accept a salary is because he'd have to file taxes which would expose his as being only fractionally as wealthy as he claims. Opinion.

In a final statement, I can tell you that the vast majority of the people who I speak with find it objectionable that the news presenters often frame commentary by saying " this coming from the most powerful man in the world . .  " or " our allies have lost trust in the most powerful nation in the world . . ." total bullshit. I LOVE AMERICA, It's people are proud and patriotic. I have a Canadian flag outside of my home because of the examples I had seen during my extensive travels in America, the pride in their country that the American people exhibit is awe inspiring. I have always viewed America as the greatest country in the world ( Canada excluded - for obvious reasons ) but it is NOT any longer - not the most powerful, respected or mightiest country in the world and hasn't been since President Obama lead the country. I'll love America again and view it as I once had, but it is NOT now.

This is a dangerous game the Democrats are playing. They have nothing and they know it. If they had the Senate their coup would have worked. If that was the case they would have removed a duly elected President who is exposing career politicians by getting things done at a speed never seen before.

Imagine if they were successful?  Next time the Democrats had a President and the House/Senate was Republican would the Republicans remove the Democrat with nonsense charges?  Very dangerous precedent they started. Are we a banana Republic?  

Democrats have been plotting and trying to remove Trump since before he was President. Russian collusion didn't work despite Schiff saying he saw the evidence as part of the intelligence committee repeatedly on press conferences. He lied repeatedly. Mueller and his all Democratic team of FBI agents and attorneys found nothing after almost three years of investigating with unlimited funds.  So Russian collusion didn't work. Obstructing the investigation of the non existent crime didn't work. Quid pro quo didn't work.  Bribery didn't work. Now they have charges that aren't even mentioned as reasons for impeachment coming forward in a pure partisan attack on Trump.

In the end the Democrats know they failed but they think this stunt will hurt Trump in the next election but the polls even the ones loyal to Democrats are showing he is gaining in support.

What's next?  They know this will die quick in the Senate. I predict they won't give the articles to the Senate for a trial. What they will do is hold on to them and spring them on the Senate as close to the election as they can so the complicit media like CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, NY Times and Washington Post can go into hysteria mode in attacking Trump.

They better be careful what they wish for.  Highest stock market in history. Lowest unemployment in 51 years. Lowest Black unemployment in 50 years. High GDP compared to Obama's 1.9% average for eight years. He shrunk ISIS territory to nothing by taking the harsh rules of engagements off the military. He spend a ton of money improving the military. He got North Korea to stop firing ICBM missiles that were nuclear war head tests. He is stopping the rape of our wealth by China. Their economy is crashing and ours is rising. I could type on this forever. He wants legal immigration only just like Bill Clinton and Obama said they wanted except Trump actually wants to do something about it. He lowered taxes. I got an extra $150 a month. Enough for gas. When have you ever seen a reduction in Federal taxes? What's the craziest thing is that tax revenue is rising because of the economy. Increased jobs and increased salaries are happening. Something Obama said he would need a magic wand to do.  He did all of this with Democrats who for three years have done nothing for this country except plotting to remove Trump.

The scumbag dems may hold the articles of impeachment to prevent the senate from exonerating Trump before the election, in hopes this will help dems in the election.

Dems are also praying and crossing their fingers this might give them just enough time to fabricate "new evidence" that might force the Republican controlled senate to remove Trump.  If that happens, they'll release the articles of impeachment to the senate immediately.

Either way, dems are fooked and they know it.  This isn't the end.  They will continue to play dirty and make stuff up about Trump in an attempt to discredit him and in hopes they will remove him or defeat him next year.

On a related note, I believe wholeheartedly that Trump is indeed a Getbigger. His tasteless & disparaging remarks, even amidst an impeachment by the house, is a clear-cut sign that he probably spent many years here in the trenches picking up the art of the troll.

For instance, while in Michigan holding a campaign rally less than an hour after being impeached, he took to addressing the late congressman John Dingell's wife. He reports a little upset towards Dingell's widow (Representative Debbie Dingell), because following John Dingell's passing in February, Trump was generous enough to give Dingell what he called "A-plus treatment" during his memorial services. All this presidential generosity, for then good old Debbie to turn around and vote for Trump's impeachment yesterday. Hath this woman no shame?
