I missed all that too, funny. All you hear about is white Arian supremacist's causing chaos (Sorry Chaos) which I just don't see or never really have in large numbers.
The last few years of violent ANTIFA Portland "protests" have outnumbered any amount of White-Power protests (in size and frequency) that I've heard about in 40 years.
You're right, as compared to Trump, President Obama didn't inspire the same level of protests against him or hi policies. His presidency wasn't completely free of partisan dissension and public demonstrations.
During Barack Obama's tenure as President of the United States from 2009 to 2017, certain Republican members of Congress, as well as Democratic congressman Dennis Kucinich, stated that Obama had engaged in impeachable activity and that he might face attempts to remove him from office. Rationales offered for possible impeachment included false claims that Obama was born outside the United States, that he allegedly allowed people to use bathrooms based on their gender identity, an alleged White House cover-up after the 2012 Benghazi attack, and failure to enforce immigration laws.
2009:
April 15 – Tea Party protests against high taxes and big government in Lafayette Park.
May 17 – the University of Notre Dame's selection of President Barack Obama as its commencement speaker led to a gathering of around 100 pro-life activists to protest against Obama's stance on abortion rights and embryonic stem-cell research.
July 4 – About 2,000 small-government advocates gathered for Tea Party Day to protest the economic stimulus plan and health care initiative of the Obama administration and Congress.
September 12 – Taxpayer March on Washington. Tea Party rally consisting of tens of thousands marched on Washington protesting the expansion of government spending.
2013:
February 17 – Forward on Climate (not necessarily a protest against Obama as much as a protest to pressure Obama). An estimated 40,000 people rallied on the Mall and marched to the White House demanding action on climate change from President Obama and the government. Particular focus was put on stopping the expansion of the Keystone Pipeline.
Obama’s election in 2008 was preceded and followed by violent attacks and property destruction targeted against minorities.
Kaylon Johnson, an African American campaign worker for Obama, was physically assaulted for wearing an Obama T-shirt in Louisiana following the 2008 election. The three white male attackers shouted “Fuck Obama!” and “black president!” as they broke Johnson’s nose and fractured his eye-socket, requiring surgery.
More frequently, Obama’s presidency was marked by effigies of our first black
president hanging from nooses across the country, for example in Kentucky, Washington State, and Maine.
Following Obama’s election, property was destroyed across the country, for example in Pennsylvania, Texas, and North Carolina, and a predominately
black church was torched in Massachusetts.
