As an aside im heading to the gym finally after nearly a month layoff. Had no choice i was hospitalized with internal bleeding and i had a "hematoma." Drs never could figure out where the bleeding started but thank God the bleeding stopped. I was interviewed by a surgeon she wanted to cut me open but i got a last swcond ct scan and after j jecting me with radioactive dye the test came back that the bleeding had stopped. Ive been down since drs orders and today yeeeee i am cleared to go back. I was just over 250lbs and im back down to 230. Im wondering if at 39 my body just cant handle this anymore but i am optomistic.

If its Gods will i will get back on track. We will see.

I'm not sold generally on probiotics, I think if running antibiotics they're worth a run...

But sure try them and see how they go.

As always losing as much weight as possible and being fit are the big ones for everything.

For a few months I had chronic hiccups to the point where sometimes I would throw up. Changed up my off-season diet to foods that were more easily digestible then added in a probiotic. It slowed them to the point where they eventually went away. I was fucking miserable. Now they’re a regular part of my daily supplements (no, not gear)

What do you take? Not gear obviously.

Is this part of getting older? My buddy thinks ss we age we produce less digestive enzymes.

Also what foods have you found work best for you? And which ones disagree with you?

Light back / heavy chest / arms went super. I havent lost any strength, super happy right now.

Happy but really, really worried something is going to derail me again. First I dislocated my shoulder falling downstairs christmas eve, then i stepped on a piece of broken glass and sliced my foot open, then i got this bleeding nonsense and then stomach flu diarrhea for several days...i feel like im falling apart! God willing i will compete this year. I hope i didnt wait too long...if its Gods will it will happen. Been a dream of mine since i was 15...how i became 39 i have no idea ...

It could be totally unrelated, but not knowing where the bleed started is the thing.

I would take a break from gear or go to trt dosages back the food off and do some more cardio, drop some fat and water, get your weight down a bit.

 Let things settle down.

Even more reason to have a break for a while.... Not from lifting, just from heavy calories and drugs and put the cardio in.

Stop eating wheat / gluten and see what happens. I was at 250 lbs, always bloated, insides felt like crap, and I thought it must be my age and just to accept it ( I'm 50 ). Stopped eating gluten 4 months ago and I literally have not had a single day when I've felt "bloated" since. Even if I stuff myself with food sometimes, all that happens is that my stomach gets full then in a few hours it's flat again. No residual bloat, nothing. My digestive system feels like it did when I was in my twenties. I still eat meat, cheese, and pretty much everything. Just stopped eating gluten.

Down to 227 lbs now and still dropping. My body shed about 7 - 8 lbs of water within 3 days of eliminating gluten. Lots of really good choices now for gluten-free breads and bagels. Just make sure you toast them otherwise they taste somewhat bland.

I had Colitis 2 years ago and lost 40 fucking pounds.........looked like a dead man.

All they could do for mde was advise me to take OTC probiotics.............. did jackshit for me.

You`d be better off taking Papaya enzyme,Bromelian,or Hydrochloris Acid pills.

Maybe mix a Tbsp, of Apple Cider Vinegar that contains Betaine into 8 oz. of water to help improve digestion......has to contain Betaine  (local health food store should have it )

On a sidenote I bought top shelp higher priced probiotics.............. ..save your money is my 2 cents worth.

No need for probiotics if you eat a keto diet or a carnivore diet.  No more burping and farting.

I'm lactose intolerance. The cure was to stop eating milk products. Problem solved.  With me I was always slightly intolerant. As I grew older  it completely got out of hand. Thought I had a serious stomach issue.  When I gave up milk and yogurt the cure came quick. You can buy lactose free milk in most major supermarkets. The best protein supplement I have ever had is Fairlife protein found in Bj's. 30 grams of protein from real lactose free milk. So many whey isolate powders claim to be lactose free and my stomach calls them a liar.  Also if anyone claims they have a better tasting protein drink they are also a liar. In 40 years of buying these fart powders nothing compares to Fairlife bottles of protein.

The BEST probiotic for anyone is SAUERKRAUT

Best if you make it yourself... only bad part, it takes about two months of fermentation

Making Sauerkraut is almost like making wine (fermentation)... It is easy and very cheap though. About 3 to 4 dollars worth of CABBAGE, 4 table spoons of salt and a gallon bottle of DISTILLED WATER and that is it.

If you have a Russian, German etc community/restaurant/stores near you, you can buy some already made fresh Sauerkraut and use it while making your own at home.

The bacteria count in Sauerkraut is measured in the TRILLIONS per serving and a serving is about two fork fulls and or you can drink only the liquid (about a shot glass) and reap tremendous benefits from it.

Here is a video of making Sauerkraut at home... There are many videos on Youtube, but it is a simple process and some videos really complicate it.

You don't need pickling salt, but you want NON IODIZED SALT... Iodine will kill the probiotics you are actually making. Just PLAIN salt from any company will do. You can also use HIMALAYAN or SEA salt as well.

You can eat fermented foods. it might help. Balkan style yogurt, Greek yogurt, sauerkraut, Korean kimchi, pickles, kombucha etc. That kind of stuff. Forget pills.

If you're truly lactose intolerant, then eat lactose-free foods or take lactase enzyme.

Yeah, it's good probiotic if you like that taste. Supermarkets & delicatessen shops usually sell Polish or German (Bavarian) made.

Kefir tastes far better, again depends of brand/taste, several variety's in shops from 50ml - 1L.

Supposedly pro-biotic diet is the healthiest 1.

I am already onto it. I love it.... found a lactose free one. I haven’t taken probiotics for a couple of years now as kefir is much more affordable.

This ^ People rush to get supplements when most digestive issue aid can be found in natural foods and/or corrected with a proper diet.
