I understand. Hyperbole is par for the course here. But I don't think anyone can seriously deny that on both sides Biden is perceived as a weak candidate. I just watch a piece this morning on the drive of those in the running are trying to campaign for the VP position like never before in history. The VP spot is mostly seen as an honorarium position. No real power but just show up to functions the President can't make and take care of the loose ends. The idea and belief (hope) is that Biden may not fill out his full term. An argument can be made now that he is suffering from the beginning stages of dementia. Imagine when the pressure of the job begins to take its toll.

If Biden gets through the debates without passing out or shitting his pants, he's a better candidate than Hillary.  She did bad with women.  He won't do any worse there.  He will do better with old, white men.  He will also get african american voters out more than Hillary did especially if he goes with Stacy Abrams.  He's going to get more Bernie votes than she did as well.  I'm not going so far as to predict a Biden win.  Too many variable between now and November.  But thinking it's a landslide either way is preposterous.

The 2020 election will be a referendum on President Trump. The Dem nominee doesn't matter as long as he is not a self-proclaimed socialist or homosexual.  Mickey Mouse could be the candidate and Trump will lose the popular vote, and so it'll come down to a few close swing states again.
