I don't think he'd fit in the machine.  Arms too short.

I noticed that too.  It's out of fucking control.  Blacks make up 13% of the US population and when it comes to buying power, it's probably 4% yet more than 50% of commercials have blacks in it now.  What the fuck!

Four percent is incredibly generous.  It's most likely less than 1%.

You're be hard pressed to find two commercials run in a row that do not have an interracial or gay couple/family.

;D My new favorite is the Subaru commercial with the black family and they are all going camping. HAHAHAAHHAHAAHAHHAHA.

A black family, driving a Subaru, going camping. LOL!  In 10,000 years that will never happen.

No shit.  I used to camp and fish every summer and only on tv have I ever seen blacks doing those activities.

The Northwest, New England, and Colorado are their strongest markets due to the mountainous and cold climates necessitating all wheel drive.  As a result, Subaru buyers are overwhelmingly liberal.  These commercials play right into the leftist thought process of black people, ie they are exactly the same as white people, but with dark skin.  Therefore, they enjoy camping, dogs, and Subaru's.  The goal of this commercial is not to sell Subaru's to African American's.  The purpose of the commercial is to indicate to leftist, female, Seattle customer that we know who you are and we share your distorted world view.  Therefore we will show black couples camping in Subaru's even though we have no belief they will actually buy our cars.

We are busy developing electric outbacks with Toyota, so we don't lose you as a customer to Tesla.

I say this all having owned two Outbacks.  Subaru doesn't care if they keep me as a customer.  :D

That's not what the white female, driving the Subaru with the Hillary bumper sticker in Portland thinks.  If you ask her, she will say of course black people go camping in their Subaru's and that's exactly what I expect to see in my Subaru commercials.  It's very clear the target audience for these advertisements is white liberals, their core customers.

There's a lot of truth to this. Years ago, Subaru in the mid 90's started a huge market survey to find out who was interested in their cars. The main groups interested were  1) people in liberal square jobs - doctors, IT workers, teachers, etc...., 2) Outdoorsy people,  and surprisingly 3) Gays.

They had some success with gay men, but where they really hit it off was with lesbians.

These commercials make their core audience happy, and if it picks up some black or mixed families, all the better.

The story of Subaru and the Gays -

https://www.npr.org/sections/money/2016/10/14/497958151/episode-729-when-subaru-came-out .

It's an interesting listen.

Besides camping, charity is another thing you see many people of color doing.  Not on the giving side anyway.
