When bodybuilding is (or is NOT) fun?
« on: April 19, 2006, 07:23:51 PM »
My wife pointed out an obvious point to me and pershap like me you feel the same.
Bodybuilding is  really fun when:

1. I go the gym work out and joke around some with other musclehedz working out.

2. Going to shows, chatting with pros and other musclehedz is a ball.

3. When I am involved with other bodybuilders or just hanging at shows, the sport is a lot of fun.

4. Going to a BIG show with expo always gets me pumped and I love the sport even more.

NOt fun-

1. Spending too much time on the message boards is really a downer. Sad, but, despite Rons' fine efforts so many nameless, anonymous azz clowns are making this and other boards really negative places to be.
It is so sad, when you consider how these could be places for real decent threads, exchange of traing methods and maybe hooking up at shows,to hang out and have some good times, etc.

Comedy I love, funny clever cracks are priceless, but endless self promotion of some and fragule egos along with juvenile posts make this a pretty negative bodybuilding enviroment for many of us.

What keeps me comming back then? Some of the threads and cracks are funny as hell for one thing.
If  Ifilter thru the silly, dumb crap, some have aexcellent insights into this sport.
I sincerely wish that we hardcore musclehedz could all hook up at a major show to hang out, cut up , take pics share a meal, etc.
It is obvious and pretty pathetic this getting together at a show is UNlikely to happen.
Why? who the f knows..... ???
Anyone up for trying to organize some kind of get big meeting?

LOL, my wife loves the gym and seeing the guys pose at the night show but she calls all the rest "moron fest" LOL
I am in the same boat, be cool if we could all hang out.

i can agree with alot of what you said.however...
not all ass clowns are anonoymous board shmoes. some pros (not all) are assholes also. one point was when ray-ray threatened to call 240's wife and rat him out.dont believe me, ask 240. im sure he has more stories than i can remember. 240 doesnt need my dumb ass to defend him, but with a former pro like this making threats how can he ever call anybody out?
decent threads about training method? the first person to lie about how they train is a pro. god forbid someone ask about drug use. when asked about it most pros tow the party line " yeah, i is natural" if the lies come from the top, how will they ever start at the bottom? pros are not going to give away their " secrets", so why should board members be shining examples of integrity.
trying to be a class act should be asked of EVERYBODY, pros included. instead of trying to defend their placing at a show, why not try to be the bigger man?
it will never happen...
forget what you know
