That's Fake.

its a trick, he explains how he does it, it works out because he puts in the number to make it work out

He gave the 2 students the numbers in advance.

It's an easy tell.

First, no 2 boys that young are going to rattle off a number that fast yet they instantly responded. The second kid couldn't sound more deflated if he tried yet he was on the ball to respond lol.

Second, the odds of the 2 numbers adding up to 999 are 1,998 to 1 - what a lucky guy!

Thirdly, when writing the answer he never looks at the digits he wrote on the board - even out of habit i still glance at numbers.

Fourthly, he is writing an answer to a number left to right whereas an older guy like him should be writing right to left because he is working out an exact 6 figure answer.

Fifthly, his explanation is based around multiplying by 1,000 and then deducting 1 x 428..... which he briefly stumbles explaining lol.  Give him 2 numbers that add up to something like 613 and he won't be able to do it.

It's better to teach maths using real world scenarios to keep people interested. This 'trick' is pretty lame and his class participation reflects that.

A calculator will never make an error and is 100% predictable. A human will misscount every 10'th time or so, or 100'th time if you're good. "the human factor"....

And that is reason enought to not calculate yorself.

The professor is an autist retard for not realizing this.

He explains it. But it is complete useless.
He always gives the second number 143.

Otherwise it won't work.

Can i use this great quick-math method in the supermarket?  nope.

You always think you missed something with these teachers, but no, here is your unusable quick-math method.

We especially don't want engineers building bridges to do math in their heads.

a calculator is also operated by a human so isnt 100% predictable.

You can also say that math is made up by humans.

I'm still waiting on the second return to the moon.....

Because we are talking about colonizing Mars. A smart person would want to see a "second" landing on the moon.

Math IS a human construct.  If aliens from another planet came here their math would be completely different.
