Georgia January Senate Races?
« on: November 10, 2020, 06:59:56 AM »
A lot of people (including most business executives and corporate types) prefer the idea of divided government over the prospect of all three branches of government being in the hands of the Democrats. Georgia voters will answer this question in January. What is likely here? Disappointed Republicans will rise up decisively and ensure two Republican victories? Democrats will be so fired up over the ongoing Trump temper tantrums that every last one of them will go to the polls? Will Trump’s behavior in the next few weeks impact voter attitudes and turnout one way or another?

I believe either party will do what they CAN at any given moment, so I fully expect millions of the dollars to be flooded into Georgia by the left to try to get the Senate.

I don't know if it will be successful, because both R's were leading the election, but failed to get 50%.

Personally, I don't want either party to have full control the House/Sentate/Presidency.

say the Dems win one GA seat ... making the Senate 51-49 ... that willl put an even greater spotlight on Trump faves Mitt Romney, Susan Collins & Lisa Murkowski.

As a Biden supporter, heart versus mind on this one. As a CENTRIST Democrat, a lot of us probably are most comfortable with divided government (mind). Looking at all the hoopla and temper tantrums and accusations, heart goes for the Democrats in Georgia. Very possible Georgia voters will be in exactly the same place and give one to the Republicans (Purdue?) and one to the Democrats (Warnock?). Loeffler is kind of like McSally in Arizona: a very unlikable personality and never elected by the people.

As a centrist democrat, are you happy with the way the party has handled the progressive wing, and are you happy with the choice for VP?

Exactly how does a "centrist" support a radical platform? Just going to overlook shutting down the country...defund police...BLM/Antifa and the Green New Deal? Just like Obama these people said what they were into, always interesting to see the buyer's remorse for those who didn't listen.

That would be too long a response here. But it goes both ways. Some people on the far Left say that every single of the 70,000,000 Trump voters are far right racists, etc. Centrists on either side, whether they ended up voting for Biden or for Trump, get no respect unfortunately. But we are actually the ones who call the shots in close elections (that is why the question on Georgia Senate).
