In this experiment of capitalism, unless you're at the very top (I don't mean 1%, but more like .01% Buffett, Gates, Bezos etc), we will all suffer from various levels of brainwash.
Those who attain both financial freedom and independence are able to see the picture clearer than most, but to get a complete idea of how everything functions and to find yourself exempt from the many harsh realities of this government, you really have to be above the masses.
Sadly, most forms of economies and governments worldwide do the same to their people. If you're aware of these harsh realities but still have to exist within the system, it sucks very much, because you soon realize you can't do much to escape it, no matter how hard you try. You can't literally pull a Walden as Henry David Thoreau suggested and simply move away from society and live in a cabin immune to society's harm.
One of the best things one can do is to exist in ignorance, so that you are able to experience bliss, even if in just transient and small doses.
