I still don't get how Bertil Fox placed 5th at the 1983 Mr. Olympia contest. Maybe I would have had to be there.

I always wondered why he didn't come into the contest like that.  Today's bodybuilders over diet and come in deflated and stringy.

He has said it multiples times - basically he obsessed over condition and ended up sacrificing size, when it wasn't necessary.

But, also, anyone thinking it was the lighting there......it wasn't.....dude guest posed at 305 on what, 5'9-10?  He was insanely huge.

It definitely wasn't the lighting. The King Kamali kitchen lighting, was far superior.

He certainly wouldn’t of placed well let alone win the Olympia in that condition.
The famous Black & White pics of him were very likely his best size & condition
Still not sure if he’d of won as he’d of dwarfed everyone else & Dorian had become
Know for his Granite like conditioning.

He has openly stated he deliberately came in 10-15lb lighter than he could’ve to out
Condition the lighter men.
