We can speculate but we are talking about someone who moved the barriers forward. It's kind of silly to say his approach was suboptimal when no one had really been where Dorian went.

We could say Ronnie should've been even bigger in 2003.
Just listen to Milos, Ronnie was 330lbs ripped, sacrificed 30-40lbs  :D

All I can say as I’ve stated before - Have you seen Dorian live on stage competing ??
I have, when I first qualified for the British Finals in 1988 Dorian weighed in before me
He weighed 217.5lbs wearing Tracksuit top Trunks & flip flops - On stage he totally dominated
His class & there were heavier competitors - Many in the audience were saying he was 235+ .

Seen him many times live as a Pro up against Wheeler, Levrone, Dillet,Cormier, Sarcev, Clairemont,Ruhl,
Etc etc & Sure Front on Dillet is from another planet until he moves to side or back
Kevin & flex superb flawless physiques hard to see how anyone could beat them + All the other very good competitors Until Dorian Stands in the Line up & Its Bang Game over He’s the winner From very angle
He Dominates- On his own & in pics etc often times that doesn’t come across.
On stage Live was a different matter.

Dorian is my all time favorite bodybuilder. He is literally as massive as Markus Ruhl but with better definition

He was absolutely unreal.

Seeing him guest pose a few weeks after the 1995 O was frightening. He said he was 285. Simply a tank. His muscle quality and graininess was freakish.

Never have I seen anything like it.

His combination of EVERYTHING made him far superior to what Ronnie ever was.

Dorian was amazing at the 1993 Olympia. Unfortunately, Bevo guest posed after round 3, and made Dorian look like a novice. Bevo did the same thing to Markus Ruhl at the 2002 NOC.

Funny how great the people on this thread think of Dorian and even seeing him in person ( he sure was in 1993 no doubt) but guys like milos was on stage with him in his prime a long with Ronnie and Milos says Ronnie was better

I can remember when insulin started to become prevalent in U.K.
BB & it help increase muscle mass & condition then as with Pro BB
The condition of BB became worse, Had they forgot how to Diet we
Wondered.
Then insulin became the big thing & again BB carried more muscle mass.
Though condition stayed about the same.
Around the mid 2000’s the conditioning became poor the Glazed look
Came in. Sure many of these men were dieting hard & had low bodyfat
Yet they couldn’t achieve the dried out shrunk wrap skin look.

My guess is the Negative side affects from High / very high dosages
Of HGH & Insulin - Thickened skin / water retention/ kidney damage
Etc. Couple that with large amounts of Site enhancement oils & we have
The Results we see on stage the last so many years.
