walmart?: "we don't have it and don't know when we are going to get it!"  and have no idea because the powers that be seemingly haven't even given them ANY heads up time table?

walgreens?: ON THEIR WEBSITE, appointments available at various locations near you, time of appointments come up under each location, 12 appointments wednesday at one location, 5 appointments available on wednesday at another location, and so on... click on each time and each location near me, OOPS, so sorry ALL of these "available" appointments are NOT, i repeat NOT available and already taken? we, meaning walgreens, are just too stupid and or lazy to UPDATE our damn website!...

local county health department: call them over and over and over for hours at a time and either you get 1) no one answers the phone, no answering machine OR 2) always always busy! (for hours at a time!).....

dial "1" to schedule a appointment (when you do get thru to a automated system voice)..... OOPS, no one is answering that line either, whether machine or actual person!...

ADVICE given? "oh, just try to at MIDNIGHT! go back on our website (walgreens) and keep on trying! because the appointments go so fast!" UH HUH! yeah, i'll keep on waking up at midnight to go your website day after day? WTF!.... WHAT KIND OF MESSED UP SYSTEM IS THAT!..

It's new vaccine technology, so I'd give it a few years before taking it. Though, I'll personally take the 1 in 6,500 chance of death in my age range. As for your mother...at 82, she's in the risk group, so I can see why you're upset.

Hi Tom, I'm sorry for your frustration.

Stay calm and be patient, your mom has made it through the worst of the spread of the virus.  Even if she's recieved the vaccine today life wouldn't return to normal for her. She would still be wearing a mask in public and bars in her neighborhood are still closed. Have her refocus on the goals she would like to accomplish during this downtime, as we are almost through this.

And enjoy everyday you have with your mom,  she won't be here forever.

Where do you live? I am in South Florida and had no problem in making an appointment to be vaccinated. I did it over the phone without talking to an actual person. They called me in person 3 hours later, and 2 days after that I had the shot and an appointment for the second.

Over 70 puts your odds of dying of Covid-19 at about 1 in 15. Further health conditions will increase the odds of dying.

Anyone under 60 and healthy getting the vaccine is most likely brainwashed. There's no logical reason to get a virus if the odds of dying are lower than 1 in 1,000.

People don't apply this shit mathematical reasoning to anything else but COVID, so I have reason to believe they are just psychologically controlled by the TV.

These same people do all manner of things that are riskier than not getting a new experimental mRNA vaccine. Again, the math doesn't add up.

Got mine but they had way more shots (US hospital network) than people showing up for the shots. I bet they had to throw some vaccines out!!!

Here is the problem:
1. Too much complicated online signups. Most people are comfortable with online but lots of people don’t go online and get left out. How about some old fashioned phone calls and other outreach if you want to get it out broadly?
2. Too particular about who gets it and who does not. You have to come showing Over 65 ID or paperwork proving you are an essential worker. How about throwing the doors wide open if you have all the extra capacity like I observed yesterday.
3. Too much worrying about White people getting it rather than Blacks or Latinos. Lots of Blacks don’t want it yet until it’s proved itself a little bit more and that’s their prerogative. Worrying about racial equity right now when you just need to speed the process up as fast as possible just seems silly.
4. Too many channels in US (like with everything else we do). Do I wait to hear from my hospital network? Do I depend on my local health department? A pharmacy? My employer? Most people don’t know where to turn and just get frustrated.

The same shit is going on in Oregon. As of 2/25/2021, there were only two places in Oregon giving shots, one in Primeville and one in Ontario. Both of these are small rural towns of around 10,000 people. The Oregon Health Advisory (OHA) website has not been updated since last Thursday when it was down.

Sorry to disappoint you dude, but I'm under 60 and took the shot when offered - but not because I fear the bullsh1t 'virus'

My logical reasons were twofold:  First - rightly or wrongly, I have no fear of the vaccine, second - it looks like European countries will make travel easier for us jab-monkeys, and I like my sunny beach holidays
