People's idea of what peaked looks like varies from person to person. Those who started working out in the 70's and 80's will have a different concept than those of us who began in the 60's. Likewise, folks who got into it at the start of the 21st century have a different idea of what a successful bodybuilder should look like. Why is this? It is partly because bodybuilding ideals change all the time.
Many of us old timers prefer the leaner look that bodybuilding stars had back when we started working out. They were our ideals. For the last 20 years or so, bigger has been better in bodybuilding. IMO that is changing now with the advent of the fitness and classic bodybuilding categories that seem to have brought bodybuilding full cycle back to the days when bodybuilders carried much less mass.
Bodybuilding is like clothing fashion, style preferences come and go all the time. What's old is new again and so on throughout the centuries.
