My Orthopedic Surgeon says it is going to completely change how surgeons view pec tears and repairs worldwide. How is that for a failed boob job?

8 months later

LOL!

I’m sure the surgery was a complete success and his body is rejecting the donor tendon.

Update on Hankins pec surgery:

Wood Hankins

"Doctor says some of the muscle has pulled off the tendon. Wants me to get a Chest Wall MRI and is talking about doing the procedure again. It was a very difficult, painful, and long recovery the first time in addition to being an expensive procedure not covered by insurance. I am almost 50 years old".   :o

I wonder if the surgeon would do the procedure for free second time or bill Brian again.

Good chance the surgeon saw Brian as an easy target for some $$$ and the surgery was never gonna be a success. He was warned by getbig about this being a possibility too. He should sue. If only he was a lawyer..

“ Yeah — that’s very likely what happened. That’s actually the most common cause of failure after a pec tendon reconstruction (especially with a graft like the Achilles allograft).

Here’s why:
   •   After surgery, the graft initially functions like a bridge held by sutures. It takes months for the body to biologically incorporate the graft — meaning new blood vessels and collagen fibers have to grow into it before it can handle real force.
   •   In the first 3–6 months, the attachment is mechanically fragile even if it looks healed externally.
   •   When someone starts pressing, flys, dips, or push-ups too soon, the new attachment can stretch out or tear again, especially under eccentric loads (like lowering the weight).
   •   Once that happens, the graft may partially detach or scar down in the wrong position, leaving asymmetry, weakness, or constant pulling pain — which sounds like what that guy’s describing.

Even at one year post-op, most surgeons still recommend easing back into pressing movements very slowly, often with physical therapy supervision.

Once a graft like that fails, revision options are limited — there’s usually too much scar tissue and not enough remaining muscle to anchor another graft effectively.”

The surgeon is covered, it is well documented the bhank did not follow the post-op recovery protocol. Imagine how it would have played in court:

Judge: Mr. Hankins, did you follow the 20 week post operation rehabilitation protocol your doctor provided you?

bhank: My orthopedic is doing his best to slow me down.

Judge: What do you mean your orthopedic is doing his best to slow you down Mr. Hankins?

bhank: I am not on their schedule. I am on mine. I am months ahead. I was already benching twice in the 40-50 rep range before week 13.

Judge: Mr. Hankins, I have the doctor's schedule in front of me and it says you were not supposed to do even a single push up by week 20 and instead of doing plyometric wall presses you say you bench pressed twice?

bhank: I am the foremost expert in the world at coming back from this shit.

Judge: Mr Hankins, please watch your language in this court. How do you claim you are the foremost expert? Do you have any medical qualifications?

bhank: There is no one on this fucking planet who knows more about my body and its recovery and training than me.

Judge: Mr Hankins, this is the last time, if you do not watch your language you will be held in contempt and sent to jail.

bhank: Fuck you bitch, you don't even lift!

Judge: Bailiff, please restrain Mr. Hankins.

bhank: I can't be faded!
