What are those things on the bars for , to prevent injury?If people are getting injured, use less weight. Then you don't need that silly blockboard.
Those are for "board pressing" in Powerlifting. Idea is to over-load the weight to work on a sticking point at lockout.So a guy who may be able to bench 500, will stick 585 on, bring it down to a point where it isn't as low as chest. Otherwise it may never leave his chest.
So, without the board, he can only press 500 then?
