I bought some on clearance for $5 at Vitamin Shoppe. I've used NAC for years, long before anyone ever heard of coronavirus. It's a good antioxidant and has been on the market for decades, by itself and (more notably) as part of other supplements such as MuscleTech's Acetabolan II.

N-acetylcysteine (NAC) is inexpensive, has very low toxicity, has been FDA approved for many years, and has the potential to improve therapeutic strategies for COVID-19. NAC administered intravenously, orally, or inhaled, may suppress SARS-CoV-2 replication and may improve outcomes if used timely. Potential therapeutic benefits of NAC include, extracellularly scavenging ROS radicals, replenishing intracellular GSH, suppression of cytokine storm, and T cell protection, thus mitigating inflammation and tissue injury. NAC administration in combination with other antiviral agents may dramatically reduce hospital admission rate, mechanical ventilation and mortality.

There are a million things that could theoretically improve outcomes in Covid patients. They have been trying to get this off the market for a long time, has nothing to do with Covid. What are you guys saying, if they release this as a Covid drug instead the drug companies will make billions? Come on, think.

Incidentally, I think I just got hit with Covid, just took the test. I have been using 3-4 grams of NAC with vitamin C along with another antioxidant that might be good when infected: melatonin, about 20mg per night. Trump was given melatonin 

Banning NAC would be silly but it also doesn't have to be a conspiracy to keep us sick. They have all these silly rules and regulations. But I would worry about availability, there is so much of it.

This might be the real reason why the FDA is writing letters to manufacturers.

This is a good reason to not take NAC at this time. Both the covid-19 as well as the vaccines MAY cause PAH for an unknown period of time. PAH cannot be measured by the usual blood pressure test methods. It cannot be measured non-invasively.
