I prefer the prettier physiques.  A combination of the aesthetic physique with freaky mass and detail is ideal such as with Lee Haney, Kevin Levrone, Lee Priest, Flex Wheeler, and 98-99 Ronnie Coleman.

But if u check it.. of all the freaks... from a picture point of veiw.. flex wheeler dwarved lot of freaks in certain bodyparts.. at a much lighter bodyweight.. that is what i consider freaky... not oh im 300lb but u have to tell somebody...
ie look at wheelers arms to any of the freaks... looks bigger than markus..nasser...gunter
purely because of his genes..muscle sweep fulness and shape..
a lot of guys who are like 280 are just that heavey because they have bigger bones denser bones...
only a couple of guys i would consider freaks... in admiration...
paul dillet.. and also vic richards...i also admire mike francious...priest is also a freak in his own right huge muscles good shape... genetically gifted...

i agree with you meso, Flex was a freak in his own right, i've always hated these jackasses like Kamali, Titus who always have to run around telling everyone in sight that they're 300 pounds or 280 or whatever when they look 230, who gives a shit.

you see the same shit in the gym all the time, the 270-300 lb. slob with the 48 inch waist who tells everyone he's 275 and benches 500 but looks smaller than the 210 lb. guy who looks 260.

There's no "either/or" to me. The best bodybuilders, in my book have BOTH size and aesthetics. One example, is Gary Strydom, particularly during his reign as WBF Champion. Others include IFBB Hall of Famer, Ron Love. "The Flexing Dutchman" Berry DeMey (WBF); then, there's that "other" 8-time Mr. Olympia ;D !

I think Flex really was  agreat example of how a smaller bodybuilder can look freakier than a large one. He certainly had no trouble beating Nasser at the Night of Champions even though he weighed 60 lbs less.









As for what I prefer, I can appreciate both. As much as I love Ruhl I still admire the physiques of classic bbs like Bill Pearl
