OnlyFans to Ban the 'Sexually Explicit Content' That Made It Rich

The company said it will start banning "sexually explicit content" in October.

OnlyFans will prohibit "sexually explicit content" starting in October, according to a report released on Thursday.

Nude photos and videos will still be allowed, "provided they’re consistent with OnlyFans’ policy," the company told Bloomberg.

“In order to ensure the long-term sustainability of our platform, and the [sic] continue to host an inclusive community of creators and fans, we must evolve our content guidelines,” OnlyFans told Bloomberg. The decision was made because of pressure from banking partners and payment processors.

This news follows a report from Axios that claims leaked documents reveal OnlyFans' struggle to draw investors, despite being on track to make $12.5 billion in gross value next year.

OnlyFans has more than 130 million users, and arguably most of them—and especially the most lucrative—are adult content creators. OnlyFans takes 20 percent commission from creators' earnings. The company's wealth is built on the work it plans to prohibit in October.

onlyfans did well when people were trapped indoors for a year.  Once things get back to normal, they won't be on these sites.  Whores will need to work

They're done. Something else will take their place to service all the hardcore refugees.

Xtube is part of the Mindgeek/Pornhub empire of porn sites. They're getting pressured from the credit card processor end. Porn is a dirty business, and has a tremendous fraud and chargeback rate, so they're really clamping down on everything.

Ebay shut down their adult listings portion a month or two also.

Tumblr banned all nsfw content.  Onlyfans will still allow nudity.

I guess it remains to be seen exactly what they meanean :D

They've already said. They are banning sexually explicit activity like masturbation and sexual intercourse, but allowing nudity to remain.  So it's not exactly like tumblr, where it was advertiser-driven and tried to rebrand as a family-oriented service (which wasn't really the only problem with their service).  Nudity only is still a pretty big market, so I'm not writing their obituary just yet.
