Speaking of huge carp, many years ago I caught a 38lb carp, 46” long and I believe it was 28” girth. Was in a canoe and the thing pulled me around in the canoe for a while till I got to a shallow area and jumped out and pull him in. Was an awesome catch.

Yup!  I've caught both carp and catfish as a youngster and have been dragged into the lake more than a few times by a really big carp.   Big catfish too but never hooked one of those huge channel cats.
