A poster on the wall of your gym about an obscure 1 rep max curl contest and suddenly you change up everything to pursue that?

How have I changed everything? The only thing different I am doing is half a dozen strict curl singles on a separate arm day. I am still training legs and chest day exactly the same. I will admit I have not had a back day the last 2 weeks as don't want to overtrain the arms. I was doing a back and bicep day prior. But I will incorporate some back this week. The only other difference is I am tryiing to keep my morning weight at 220lbs. I was 223lbs this am upon waking.  I don't think I can qualify at 220lbs but I know I can't qualify in the 242lb weight class.

Also it is not an obscure contest it is a qualifier for the Arnold which would be cool but again that probably isn't happening. I still have 3 shoulder surgeries a surgically cut not reattached bicep tendon, a torn pec, and a surgically reattached tricep, in addition to a crooked wrist from a break that never set all of which come into the lift. Additionally I just came off a bicep injury. But yeah I went to the clinic and tried it and it was FUN so I am going to enter the contest. People are coming from as far away as PA.

But today is heavy singles day I should have a much better idea if I am going to do well or not after today

But when you live on an Island (again I don't think you guys realize this I am not in central NC I am on an island off the Coast) and your local gym host any kind of contest in December when the entire place is dead you enter it

There will be more contestants at the strict curl contest than any state level bodybuilding show. No one competes in bodybuilding anymore the shows have like 3 guys showing up for the open if you are lucky and maybe 1 in the master classes

And why would anyone you don't need to starve yourself for months to get on stage in front of 20 people to get an out of focus picture these days for feedback and exposure. You can take an in focus pic throw it up on Instagram and 1000k people see it in 20 minutes.

Good question yes I do plan to video my form. I have been studying technique and notice a slight shoulder roll shrug is used to initiate the lift by some of the heavier lifters. It almost looks like their shoulders roll forward at the start then back to initiate and get that starting momentum. Your back has to be on the pad but the shoulders can move some. Really the plan is to work on technique. However I have no idea how heavy I can go today after 2 weeks of heavy curls I am hoping to be recovered but really no idea. I would like to get more than I got the first week but just not sure front delts are a little sore from chest day and I do believe they come into it. I think the final week I will train nothing to be fully recovered going to ask about strategy and training to peak on meet day. Also want to try the lift with the commands today

But everyone wants to come on here and argue about strength and training all day everyday. Who has the bigger arms who has real muscle who is strong etc etc  I think maybe we should all do a strict curl challenge simple enough and you cant argue form and half reps back against the wall how much can you curl. Cant argue perspective just simple question who has guns and who doesnt simple concept

I do believe many getbiggers can curl more and many less but wouldnt that be a fun challenge thread to start?

John is not as big or as lean as me and he is the world record holder he is going to absolutely smash me training today he will probably rep my max so good for him. I am not claiming to be some kind of record breaking powerlifter just trying to have some fun. But you guys want to argue over strength this is the easiest strength challenge we can all do no spotters are needed no form police to argue about depth real simple concept back against wall and curl. Correct if they are not as lean as me and not as big as me then no they are not going to beat me on the beach but they may out curl me if they have been specifically training it for years have no injuries and are short and thick with strong tendons again not claiming to be any kind of champion powerlifter but strong enough, I am not going to embarrass myself and I will have some fun

Nobody considers the strict curl a test of strength you absolute girl.  I'm sure plenty will oblige you in a squat bench deadlift contest. You know an actual test of strength?

Actually Everyone does lots of members have back and knee issues why not have a contest we can all do? Also the squat depth is going to be a subjective issue and the lack of spotters a safety issue. Then how are we rating each lift separate counting totals etc etc then are you making weight classes? Now each member is submitting 3 videos as well yeah thats just not practical and won't work

The strict curl is much simpler to understand and applies more to bodybuilding each member can easily upload a strict curl video and it's fun.

The board will consider your nonsense statement a forfeit

Lol a technique contest then how come the guys all have massive arms that do well in it? If it is technique let's see your technique you can argue all lifts are technique, but you need strength as well technique helps but without strength you are still not lifting shit

While it will not have an effect on your ego, I don't give a flying fuck what you would look like at the beach.  Because I am not so shallow that I worry if someone is going to "beat me" at the beat.
