Yes, I’m building a coop and a chicken run and hope to get 8 chickens. I think I will get a mixture of easter eggers and Plymouths. I haven’t decided yet. This will be in Arizona, so I’m working on making sure I have ventilation and fans.

I am a monsoon kinda person and don't at all enjoy the haboob stuff.  Dust storms disgust me but the monsoons I find to be quite comforting.  Flagstaff is okay but too cold in the winter and it's a college town.  I am rambling...

You don’t have to refrigerate eggs fresh out of the chicken’s butt, I learned this recently from a friend who owns chickens.  Evidently something is done to the store-bought ones that causes them to need to be refrigerated.

I’m going to get 8 chickens at the most. I’m not sure how many eggs they will lay ? My coop is 8’ x 10’ and the run is 9’ x 15’.

I’m guessing they can’t go outside until it warms up a little bit ? So I’m leaving tomorrow for Christmas and I will buy the baby chicks when I get back. The ones for sale were one week old and they told me not to put them outside until they are 8 weeks old.

Ah, yes, but this can backfire. I have chickens and a turkey and made the mistake of leaving them on the kitchen counter for weeks until one of them turned rotten and exploded. The nastiest smelling shit you’d ever imagine.

I’m in Paradise Valley, with other rentals in the Valley area.

I’ve been to Flagstaff and it does get cold there. Honestly I don’t spend too much time here.
