Just got off the horn with this "Coop" fella.

He openly admitted that these "strict curls" are not about bicep strength, but about manipulating your elbows and shoulders to "hoist" the weight up without using your biceps.

Which makes a lot of sense.

Also, Coop admitted that he "strict curls" more than he can curl free standing because with the wall he can brace himself and "roll" his shoulders better.

Interesting.

Also, hanky has a new contestant at SCN.

Yours truly just signed up for the same weight/age class.

And i curled 165 without a special bar or anything. Just the standard ez-curl bar at the gym.

Easy peasy.

Good luck hankins, i'll be at 180 in a few weeks.

Better up the dosage!

And i didn't even lift today! :D

Oh man, I am not very good at bent over rows. I try to keep my legs stiff, but I think I am confusing the correct body position with stiff legged deadlifts. I definitely need to work on them. I am doing better though when I use my lifting straps.

Wrong I just made this entire board my Bitch other than Rob and BigRio I don't think a single damn one of you has any chance at all of strict curling 166.5lbs. You guys spent 2 years saying I had show muscles and no strength only 1 arm SEO nerve damage and was lying about height bodyweight measurements etc etc.

Who the fuck blows their low back out lifting that 166lbs (or whatever) off of a rack??  I was doing an EMOM of high hang cleans, no blocks, at 205 this weekend.  No fucking belt either.

Lifting straps are a must for back training otherwise grip strength limits development of a much larger muscle group.

They definitely help on back work. I like using them for chins.

Bhank can't squat shit, can't bench shit so what does he do....he picks curling which nobody gives a shit about.  Nice one bhank, you're competing in something nobody cares about.  You should take up speed walking next so you can tell us all how good your cardio is.  Maybe you could train with this guy and he could help you bring your legs up.

Hi Mr. Scott !

The chickens are good, is still have all 8 of them, so I think they're doing okay. I have a really cool coop and run that was built for me. They only go outside during the day because it is too cold at night for young chickens. They live in AZ and I'm back home in Chicago right now

They are very funny and I have some great pics of them.

I have been working on my squats and I am up to six reps now at 225 pounds. My mom is coming to visit in March. I hope you are doing well and feeling better now.

Was just out in Scottsdale this past weekend.  What the hell is with all the damn traffic?!?!?!  Went to Hub over in mesa...decent burger, not the best.  Was nice to be in the high 60's for temps...but fuck this -4 bullshit that is showing up today!!!

I seriously need to get the hell out of here.

I am absolutely going to qualify for the Arnold 2024 I will be a competitor on the main stage with a backstage competitor wrist band to the entire expo and all the competitions and events. I will meet all the pro bodybuilders and strongmen and powerlifters  not as just a fan but as a fellow Arnold classic competitor. You have fun at some rinks dink British thing I am going to compete at the Arnold next year

You can't squat 225x15 or 365 without blowing out a bicep....you know, I know it, the whole board knows it.

You can't snatch 200lbs.  The snatch is one of the most technical lifts there is.  Strength, skill, mobility, and speed.  All of which you are lacking.
