They made a division for all you old timers who are stuck in the past and want to tell everyone how much better things were in our day. Go watch Classic. The dudes look insane with tiny waists but they actually have legs. They destroy the 70's bodybuilders. Open is about the biggest most muscular freaks.
I can see why everyone tries to say that bb is dead, etc. The classic physique competitors need to try and aim for competing and looking for those old Arnold, Mentzer, Zane, Paris, etc builds.
Let the mass monsters of today destroy the open series and see how truly big and freaky one can get. The more, the better. Also adds in that factor that there is no way that older bodybuilder gentlemen would have kept up in gym
The number 1 factor killing all bb-based sports competitions the lack of a star. You need starts to sell tickers, merchandise, and drive social media. Need to look at giving some simple strippers/porn stars a chance to compete in the female divisions. Hell, that would help drawl some people in and shed the look that every female competing actually can be sexy and not look like a male trying to transition to a female, etc.

Open is about the biggest most muscular freaks so quit complaining about it when you know what the division is meant for. Bodybuilding needs new faces and starts and that definitely starts with personality. Your main stars cannot have the personality of a rock. You may need to dip down into the wrestling world and have someone kayfabe being a loud, obnoxious dick who very well could be Olympic champion. Have you a good guy/babyface that always gets attacked but can easily pull out the win.
