From what I read, NASCAR was an offshoot of the moonshine running in the 30's. So now instead of hauling booze they serve it to an audience watching them drive. Seems like a nice evolution.

Never understood to circle track stuff.

F1 is amazing and i'll watch rally sometimes. Only the hill climb stuff.

I've never understood how American's are obsessed with NASCAR and barely acknowledge F1. Weird.

Hit puck down the ice, try to score, other team grabs it and tries to hit it the other way. That's a hockey game.
Kick a ball down the field, other team steals it, tries to hit it the other way. That's a soccer game.

Nascar was better when the cars had some variety and the drivers were allowed to have personality. The Richard Petty era.

Now, the drivers are all homogenized, boring and safe for corporate sponsors, the cars are all the same. If you watch golf, the PGA Tour is the same. Boring players with no personality.

Fans go to the races to party and socialize. The atmosphere at the races is still pretty neat.
