I could see businesses losing in the short term.  But eventually businesses and the public at large would migrate to other websites to buy stuff.  Monopolies are bad.  FB needs competition.  Take them down like they did Ma Bell before they get "too big to fail."

As much as I agree with you, if social media shut down the economy would go further to shit. I wouldn’t mind if private pages were gone but business accounts (I have 4) would all but destroy a business be it online or brick and mortar
