Go about 10 miles out from the last suburb of any major metro and you will find the world a lot more functional.

Even when the USSR was falling apart people in the country were doing better, and that will hold true as the USA decays.

There is no chance on earth that they get rid of those damn load leaf blowers.  I think they've been banned for a while but no one GAF.

When true hardship comes people tend to look after their own interests with people that look and think like them. When that time comes I wouldn't worry about that demographic taking care of business. I hope I'm too old to be involved in it at that point. Really just depends on how long they can keep the populace distracted, overstimulated, fat, comfortable and lazy.
