I’m in VA and voted today at a school. It’s a school policy to wear a mask. The voting folks said they were however optional. I wore mine, and only saw one person not wearing it. Had it not been at a school where masks are the policy, I probably wouldn’t have worn one. I didn’t see anyone talking shit or anything one way or another. All quiet. Go Youngkin.

In Virginia the State Board of Elections and the Department of Elections are responsible for determining the rules at polling stations. This is the Virginia Elections Commissioner's response to reports that folks not wearing masks not allowed to vote at the poles:

"We have gotten several reports of voters either being turned away or being made to wait until the polling place is clear before being allowed to vote if they refuse to wear a mask," Virginia Elections Commissioner Chris Piper wrote in an email to officials. "You may not turn voters away because they are not wearing masks. While masks are encouraged, every eligible voter is entitled to cast a ballot at their polling place."

He should have made this clear to those folks working at the polling stations beforehand. It would have saved a lot of hassle.

Except in Virginia, unmasked voters cannot be denied the opportunity to vote at the poles. Too bad someone had to "whine" before this point was made clear to pole workers.

I'm aware. He was up 9% but that just tells them how many votes they need this evening. Who counts the votes is who counts. Next they'll say the machines went down, or technical issues.

I don’t watch Fox that much anymore since the 2020 election. I’ve been on Newsmax and they have Youngkin ahead by about 6 and the projected winner and now they’re saying NJ is close

Preliminary reports is that the lion's share of Richmond's and upper VA's votes are tallied. There may not be enough for left over for McCauliffe to close the gap.

This is hardly a surprise. No one expected Youngkin, if he won, to win by more than 3 points. The issue remains where are the remaining 12%. Unless almost ALL of it up north, Youngkin will likely hold on to the lead and win it.

McCauliffe just gave a speech, certainly not sounding like a guy who's about to get his hand raised. But, that remains to be seen.
