Unreal.
Yet real.
I assumed that we are moving towards the trans rights stuff because it's cultural nihilism - basically, the end result of Cultural Marxism taken to the extreme.
Put another way: there's NO END to it. That's what makes it such a "successful" [until it's not] strategy to destroy functional societies, because NO ONE can satisfy the criteria.
Like workplace codes of conduct that have people fired for being "toxic" - NO ONE is safe from such a standard, and so anyone can be fired for any reason under such bullshit "standards".
Hence why thinking people have actual standards. It's like "Innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt". THAT is an actual standard.
Under our current and emerging social status quo, essentially everyone is guilty until proven innocent.
It's like 1984.
The perfect system for tyrants to do away with anyone they disagree with.
Once we go down this road, everything and everyone will be destroyed.
The only difference between Cultural Marxism [political correctness] and Economic Marxism [communism] is that the first one destroys society at a slower pace.
It's a slow march to ultimately the same end - if left unopposed.
This is also why anyone or any organization that is not explicitly anti-SJW / anti-Woke, will ultimately become SJW/Woke if allowed to continue.
This is why states like Texas that are armed to the teeth, and generally anti-SJW, are not being dragged into this cultural/social death spiral.
If the standard we have for our society is "Anyone who offends anyone ever - even once in their lifetime - gets cancelled", then every single individual in our society can eventually get cancelled [the 21st century equivalent of bring gulag'ed - outcast from society].
The same way that communism is economic nihilism [Economic Marxism = communism, as stated above], Cultural Marxism is cultural nihilism, which is ultimately economic nihilism.
Once our demographics change and we lose free speech, you can kiss your Constitution and Bill of Rights goodbye.
I would hope these past twenty months have shown people that "rights" are only relative, and only exist insofar as we have enough people in our society willing to hold them up.
My view is this:
The left has ran out of revolutionary energy, and by pushing the trans agenda, we eventually get to a state where people can be jailed for not acknowledging that a person isn't a frog today, and a dinosaur tomorrow, if they claim to "identify" as such.
Then on the third day, they can claim to be TA, deadlfting 225-lb for 113 reps.
And anyone who disagrees is subject to being cancelled [the modern-day equivalent of being sent to a gulag in the USSR].
My friend said that he thinks there is another reason for this madness:
He thinks that due to plastics and other chemical pollution in the water that is "turning the friggin' frogs gay" [disproportionately producing hermaphroditic frogs in water ways], that human beings will likewise start producing masses of transgender people, so by pushing for acceptance now, there won't be outrage and potential lawsuits impeding for the various damage being done now to our environment and food supply system that are causing these things.
If it's cool and trendy [and politically protected] to be trans, people won't be outraged if 10% of the babies born today end up being trans.
I hadn't even thought of that.
But why else might this be happening?
Why are we going absolutely nuts to protect essentially 0.3% of the population, to the point that we are now protecting a person's right to essential change their gender identity on a daily basis?
Also - I walked to McDonald's on Monday for a coffee, walking past the high school I went to, in the process.
I implicitly noticed that the kids there were all extremely short. It wasn't until the next day when my friend mentioned that, that I even noticed it overtly. I didn't see one who was taller than me [174cm / 5'8.6"].
Is human evolution taking a strange course due to environmental toxins or something like that? Will more trans people emerge, and therefore our elite are pushing the trans agenda so hard now in advance of this becoming a reality?
