We shouldn't see this many deaths between the ages of 35 to 60, given the limited sample size...should we?

Matt, you seem to be making a few different conflicting arguments. You started a thread about what you perceive as a link between bodybuilding and covid vaccine deaths.(As another poster pointed out, the assumption that all of those bodybuilders received the vaccine is probably not accurate.) Then after I pointed out that a lot of the deaths you listed were pretty clearly not vaccine related, you pivoted to bodybuilding in general not being healthy, which is something even professional bodybuilders don't claim. Then you claim the list might have some inaccuracies (presumably you compiled the list?), but that overall there are still more suspicious bodybuilder deaths this year than in previous years (in itself a dubious claim, but wildly specious when combined with the fact that at least half of the list is clearly not covid related.) Then you claim that it's suspicious that there aren't more bodybuilders near 70 who competed in the 90s, but as I said earlier, that's mainly because there were so few bodybuilders who competed in their 40s during the 90s. Even if every competitor from the 90s was alive today, the list of people who would be over 65 wouldn't be that long. Even now, it's still not very common even though there are more 40+ competing at a high level than there were in the 90s. Even in your follow up post, when you were listing bodybuilder deaths that were supposed to support your point, you only listed two dead bodybuilders that would be older than 60 if they were alive. (As for other old bodybuilders, I did a quick google search of various competitors in the Masters Olympias through the 90s and the majority are still living. Again, not arguing that professional bodybuilding doesn't have major health risks, but there isn't a shortage of older competitors who survived the 90s.)

As the board's unofficial Black Colombo, I have to say none of these pieces really add up to a convincing argument. It's a bunch of stuff that is mildly suspicious if you don't look too closely and don't try to form it into a coherent argument.

28-Year-Old Body-Builder Dies 4 Days After Second Moderna COVID Shot

This isn't a new story, it happened at the beginning of October and Matt named him earlier in this thread and in another thread. I think this is the story that kind of pushed the idea that bodybuilder related covid deaths are a trend to a wider audience. I looked up his story because of Matt's earlier posts and  I don't think this is quite what a lot of people are thinking it is.

-The guy was very anti-vaxx, made multiple social media posts about it, but eventually relented and got the vaccine. He passed away 4 days later. Since his death, his wife has posted a few times and his father has posted a few times. According to what has been posted online, the father was extremely anti-vaxx, too, prior to the son's death. (The father's facebook page is public and most of his posts are about fishing, so I don't think it's a stretch to assume those reports are accurate.) I bring all of this up to say that the family is radio silent on his death being vax related. His facebook page is still open, but all content related to him getting the vaccine is erased, even though it's referenced on a bunch of other sites. The father's page is still public and he changed his profile pic to one with his son, but all of the anti-vax post were erased and not a mention of the dangers of the vaccine. The wife posted in a facebook group for women who lift- she said that she's only managed to work out three times since her husband passed- but no warnings to people not to get the vaccine. If you look up his name, you see that there are multiple sites that speculate his death is vaccine related, but no one close to him is making that claim.

This is like every couple years when there are a few high profile shark attacks and everyone tries to claim something has changed then the following year there are hardly any.  Statistically nothing has changed.

Have to agree with you here. Would be interested to find out why other posters think this is such a bad analogy.

I remember some study of elite Olympic athletes, and forgive me exact numbers, but most said they’d trade loving until 50 for a gold medal. So I doubt some dumb juicehead cares about making it to 70 when he’s a 25 year old chemical experiment.

Taking it a bit further, the average 25 year old person, male or female bodybuilder or not, doesn't think about making it to 70. I know I didn't. Seventy seemed beyond ancient. What's funny is now that I am 77 years old, 70 seems almost young.

“Old” is someone who is ten years older than you.
