The entrance did not age well.

That entrance was acceptable back in 1989/1990.

It is not acceptable in 2021.

Wrong. It's an Alpha Male entering a room. While it's true that the rules for Beta Males are quite different today and they essentially must act like doormats to keep from being fired, sued or cancelled, High Tier Alphas like JCVD are above it all. They are universally lusted after by women and admired by men. We still see these reactions when a true Alpha enters the room.

He definitely move like light in his shoes. Too much hip movement.
He tried to portrait a confident and likeable fellow which fell flat.

At that time, the world needed to have both Bosworths and Van Dammes.
