It is interesting that Oak got a ban for posting in support of vaccines and no one who does not support them has been banned even though some pf you probably exceeded Oak's post count. It is also curious that anyone thinks if you post on Getbig you must post on a variety of topics. Where's that rule written?

I still have not taken the COVID test. It is sitting on the desk in front of me as a reminder that I should probably take it or wear a mask at home. My fear is that the test results will be positive for COVID and then I will obsess over ever possible symptom...that kind of thinking is too negative. No stomachache today but a slight cough this morning which is not all that unusual for me. 

I was mistaken, only my grandson, his girlfriend and my great-granddaughter tested positive. My daughter and son-in-law who tested negative are wearing masks around the house "just to be safe". Also, both my grandson and his fiancé had not yet had their booster shot. The rest of us adults have had them. Because they were made available to seniors, I was the first to get the booster which means it has lost more of its efficacy.

In general I find that antivaxxers aren't REALLY about freedom. They're actually just bullies who want to control everyone. I'm happy Trudeau is standing up to them.

As of February 4, 20222 the US death toll from COVID-19 hit 900,000. Why don't you develop some stats using this information. I have no idea how they would turn out but at least they would be the same old, same old from Podunk Thunder Bay.

I'm not one for hiding, no matter where it is or what it is about. Besides, the weather in Thunder Bay is not my cup of tea. It is a rousing 2° F today.

Don't let the 2°F temperature deceive you, Primemuscle!  It is actually a solid -22°F right with the wind being as out of control as it is.

It routinely goes as low as -40°F here [maybe every other winter, or 2 out of 3 winters, it gets to -40°F].

It once got to -59.8°F with the wind chill!  So yes, it is absolutely frigid here in the winters.

Covid will be a permanent risk, for elderly people.  So expect people almost dead to die a couple of years early because of it, I would say.  If effective vaccines come out, that can change [not the shitty vaccines we have now].

It's a new flu, basically.  So extremely elderly, severely obese, and immunocompromised people will need to worry about it.

It may end up costing all of us the last two years of our lives - or...many of us anyway.  Definitely not worth crushing the economy over.  All those measures failed anyway.

Pfizer-BioNTech is postponing its rolling application to the Food and Drug Administration to expand the use of its two-dose Covid-19 vaccine for children ages 6 months to 4 years.

That's a good question.

I think Covid is here to stay.  I think Covid will continue to result in 1 in 6 people losing 2-5 years of lifespan.

This is not worth destroying the Western economy over - and measures won't work in the first place.

Also, in the past you have said that it's a "choice" for us not to get vaccinated, while losing our freedom of association rights, employee rights, and travel rights, etc.

I would disagree with that.

But if there is the political will to make it happen - so be it.
