I want to use it in class tomorrow. I teach Chinese people English. Some of them might recognize it if it's wrong, which would be cool to see if they can spot it.
I'm terrible at math. Could you tell me the mistake? i.e. the correct answer.
I might have misunderstood the syntax of the expression but I doubt that since there really isn't much room for interpretation.
So you see that (9!) in five o clock, right? The exclamation mark performs an operation that looks like this:
4!=1*2*3*4
which is basically taking a number, dividing it into all of the separate whole numbers and multiplying them. In this case 9! equals 362 880 and as you can tell, the numbers escalate really, really quickly. Anyways, the square root of 362 880 is just over 602. If you take 602 minus 1 you get something that doesn't even come close to the number five.
The correct answer for sqrt(9!)-9/9 is
72*Sqrt[70]-1
But it kinda surprises me though that someone would make such an obvious mistake like that, so I might have misinterpreted the syntax. Perhaps someone else can weigh in on this?
