Well, you've started this. I've only replied on Steve's posting, that's all.
'Facts' are interpretations, but you seem to narrow minded to understand that.
Nevertheless, I respect people with other opinions.

No technically Steve started this. I've only replied on your posting. That's all. Facts are facts. Facts don't have an agenda , people do. I don't respect people's opinions when they contradict facts and they let emotions rule over logic.

"Why have Canada and Europe lower rates?"

I don't care why either have lower rates. Just like you don't care about the Harvard study.  :D

Riddle me this Batman

The Harvard study attempts to answer the question of whether or not banning firearms would reduce murders and suicides.  Researchers looked at crime data from several European countries and found that countries with HIGHER gun ownership often had LOWER murder rates.

Russia, for example, enforces very strict gun control on its people, but its murder rate remains quite high.  In fact, the murder rate in Russia is four times higher than in the “gun-ridden” United States, cites the study. ”Homicide results suggest that where guns are scarce other weapons are substituted in killings.” In other words, the elimination of guns does not eliminate murder, and in the case of gun-controlled Russia, murder rates are quite high.

The study revealed several European countries with significant gun ownership, like Norway, Finland, Germany and France – had remarkably low murder rates. Contrast that with Luxembourg, “where handguns are totally banned and ownership of any kind of gun is minimal, had a murder rate nine times higher than Germany in 2002.

The study found no evidence to suggest that the availability of guns contributes to higher murder rates anywhere in the world.  ”Of course, it may be speculated that murder rates around the world would be higher if guns were more available. But there is simply no evidence to support this.”

I don't care about the Harvard study? Then why did I quoted that study twice? ::)
I don't know the exact murder rate from each European country (prob, like 99.99% of us..), just like the exact gun ownership laws. For example, what are the similarities between the Norwegian & the U.S. gun law, and what are the differences? In other words, how easy/hard is it to obtain a gun in both countries?

I find it interesting that the murder rates in the U.S. are significantly higher than all European countries, except Russia. I'm not surprised about Russia, that's a fucking corrupt state.

These days you can find "studies" to corroborate anything you like. Moreover the sample used is incorrct russia has strict gun laws but it a country controlled by the Mob, moreover countries with significant gun ownership have very strict laws pertaining to obtaining those weapons, I am from Europe and i can tell you that trying to get a weapon in Germany is a bitch. I don't think guns should be banned but there should be stricter legislation pertaining to them.

Your quote

Banning guns = less deaths, statistics don't lie in this case..

Besides being nothing more than assertion it was flat out proven wrong by that Harvard study. So , no you don't care about the study one because you haven't read it all irregardless of how many times you quoted it. Your original assertion was corrected yet you keep clinging to Canada and the Europe and why their rates are lower  ::)

I don't care why their rates are lower , we know for a fact Banning guns doesn't mean less deaths. You're starting to sound just like one of those emotional fundamentalists you project onto other people. You don't like where the facts have led so you just reduce facts as ' opinions '  ::)

Classic rhetoric mind owning tricks in your postings, like 'facts', 'emotional', etc but you're unable to impress or convince me.

The difference between finding these ' studies ' is the credibility of them. Harvard law has credibility

I''m not here to try and impress or convince you , only correct you. I haven't made any assertions like you have  :D I have stated you were wrong and back up my point of view with facts. You've done what? Oh that's right nothing  ;) run along come back when you have some facts and I might entertain your point of view

Again this isn't the thread for this discussion

The difference between finding these ' studies ' is the credibility of them. Harvard law has credibility

It is credible but there are many credible studies that disagree with these findings too.
