It is estimated that at least 100,000 participants in the Civil War were 15 or younger. This is Riley Crawford (1847-1864), a member of Quantrill's raiders and Confederate irregular who was 13 when he was brought to Quantrill by his mother after her husband was shot by Union soldiers.
