Honestly, how effective are Tattoos?
« on: January 25, 2022, 03:39:36 PM »
Sure, they look intimidating at least they used to, but how do they help in a fight? Do they increase punching power, stamina, footwork, takedown skill etc. They seem all show to me.

I notice kids are doing their necks and even faces now like people where doing "sleeves" 10 years ago.

Going to suck having that shit removed when they're adults

Useless of course cauliflower ear doesn't help you fight either. It's good to know the difference between a military tattoo, and a prison tattoo on the face, a gang tattoo, a homemade tattoo and a professional butterfly tattoo. You also as always need to take everything into account is this a 140lb tatted Bieber with butterflies and flowers or a 275lb tatted ex con with aryan brotherhood tattoos. Some tattoos like cauliflower ear can at least tell you if they have probably been in a fight or not.

I am actually more interested in functional tattooing now. The Ice man had dots tattooed where he had arthritis and could apply acupuncture treatment. Something like that so you could acupuncture yourself would be cool. I also know many people to believe in magical tattoos that can protect injuries. There is a long history of tattooing magical protective runes and spells on the body. You will see guys tatooing to hide injuries like Stallone but this has historical meaning as our ancestors could tattoo injuries with magical tattoos of strength and power.

Side not my knee just slipped standing up off the couch very painful if fleeting its like the entire thing just slides and then I have pain in the back of the leg. Eventually I will fall and not be able to get back up. Time is short so I have thrown on a brace and I am heading to the gym hopefully stiff leg deadlifts will strengthen the back of the leg and stabilize the joint.

Oddly enough, most of the people I see with sleeves these days are cops.

They just help hide the superficial injuries

Darren Avey can likely answer this better than any of us.

Will go with what he says.

this is true - I work on base so it’s easy to tell military tattoos - ones who are paratroopers, infrantry, then there are support staff

BUT what i can really tell are the idiot pissy type dude - usually haven’t done shit with there lives, dudes who wear cutoffs in 20degree weather so u can see the “skull tatts” or piece of shit spider web around there elbow - sure you’ve been to jail on drunk and disorderlies and domestics but never to prison esp for any serious crimes or anything involving money

they act hardcore in the gym, slam shit so you “notice” them, and they love to approach any heavy bag hanging up and proceed to beat the hell from
it with NO gloves on - which along with the tattoos , signifies a complete hardass im every sense of being alpha af
