Chinese Olympic boycott
« on: February 06, 2022, 02:13:54 PM »
I'm wondering if all the people that call for the Chinese Olympics to be boycotted have removed all products from their home that were made in China ie Apple phones Nike shoes children's clothing toys etc etc

I have.

I won’t ever have products that are American made if the source material is from China.

I own several products made in Vietnam.

My sneakers are American made, SAS, San Antonio Shoemakers. I generally don’t wear underpants, unless I need compression shorts for the gym (which are Vietnamese made).

I’m boycotting the olympics. Unfortunately everything is made in China so that’s that.

Not sure what your point is, I know you haven't or any liberal for that matter and anyone that says they have are either lying or don't know. I can guarantee there isn't one person in this country that doesn't have anything from China on their person or in their home. That being said, your "ah ha" question doesn't fly

This "diplomatic boycott" nonsense is weak sauce.  Either grow some balls and do a real full boycott or fuck off.

the Olympic athletes from around the world who have worked very hard most of their lives to get to this competition should not have attended the games because they were in China but it's okay for you to buy products made in China because it benefits your lifestyle

I think India who is also "diplomatic boycotting" boycotted the Opening ceremonies by not broadcasting them in India (or not the part where India walked out).  Anyone know?

Who says anyone is still buying? I stopped buying things I know were Chinese made years ago and there’s somethings you just can’t help. Xi should be taken out and those athletes imo shouldn’t have went. Yes, boycott the fuck of it. We were heading to everything American made until the communist sympathizer was installed, now we don’t have a choice even if we wanted it.

Anyone with an ounce of patriotism should have pull out

Why exactly is this "boycott" asked for?

If it is about some human rights, look no further than for example the torture and abuse in US prison system, like solitary confinement for decades, beating and slave labour.

If the boycott was about them giving the world coronavirus, I'd understand.

Prisoner rights are a good example of the divide in the country.

Obviously prisoners should be treated humanely but where is the line drawn with those who can’t be reintroduced into society?

What is the goal of prison? Is it punishment or is it for reform? What is the responsibility of the prison to the prisoners? Should all prisoners be treated equally and if not what type of prisoner should be considered dangerous or off limits?

Is the whole system broken or does it need to be adjusted?

What country provides a good example of how prisons should be run?

US athletes worked for 4 years while dreaming about an olympic medal then politics come to put an end to their dream and traumatize them.

Sports were made to bring people together and make peace but the US doesn't seem to care about this.

Keep politics out of sports

It's the athletes who bring politics into it and that's why so many fans have lost interest.

The Olympics should transcend politics.

The 1980 U.S. Olympic boycott by Jimmy Carter was very stupid.

true, they should just shut up and play the game.  if you ever watch charles barkley and shaq o'neal on pregame coverage of nba basketball. barkley likes to run his mouth on everything and anything. when it comes to anything political or controversial. shaq becomes non existent in the conversation. reason he doesn't want to alienate any of his sponsors. barkley just doesn't care.
