“Evercore ISI issued a protein inflation note this week projecting that most protein prices are forecasted to increase “substantially” due to the higher feed costs, with chicken breast reaching as high as 70% year-over-year in the first half of 2022.
The analysis said pork and ground beef could climb as high as 20% year-over-year during the same period.

The report pointed to the rising costs of grain that are used to feed livestock, such as wheat, soybeans and corn, as a significant factor contributing to increases in protein prices. Wheat, in particular, skyrocketed following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

“We also note that beef is the least exposed to grain volatility (from the Russia/Ukraine war) as feed makes up roughly ¼ of production cost versus 50%+ for pork and 70-80% for chicken,” Palmer told FOX Business.”

That's a good point that I didn't look into. I'm assuming most of the other big free economies also did handouts but I haven't looked into it. I wasn't just referring to stimulus payments though. All sorts of handouts were done in addition to that including to corporations. All while the world economy was shut down. I don't see how there couldn't be big repercussions from that.

We are all fucked and we are all printing and the US is still the superpower.

Many EU countries are cripples already. Spain just approved a policy to ban the firing of govt employees.

The food is ok for the US as you will ban exports to use domestically meanwhile Middle East, Africa, China who rely on importing food gets squeezed hard. Therefore if a hamburger in the US goes up 2x it likely goes up 8x in China and you will see inflation explode in those countries.

Then again to hold back severe inflationary price rises you can easily fuck with the metric and that is to begin price control policy. In that scenario you can claim victory you held inflation back however the downside is you simply run out of everything.

We have a bit of that today but it’s done by companies as the mentality is always to hold prices low and run out of stock. For my work I have to follow competitors for pricing but what I do is implement demand cooling strategy where I pullback on frequency of promotions, how deep they are and then shift my inventory risk to high profit low volume and allow entry product with low price/low margin to run out in the consumer channel.

lol, not to punish meat eaters,  if red meat is so unhealthy for us why would the prices of it sky rocket? Forcing people with lower incomes to eat cheap affordable processed foods, thus making them ill. I'm fine I bought half a cow at less than $4 a pound so no problem for myself, but makes you question the whole push for the Vegan agenda,  The Game Changers, Forks over Knives, What the Health, and various other documentaries. Obviously the want people to be sick, forcing the vaccine didn't go as planned so, here's another strategy.

The eggs I eat are $6-7 for 12, organic Pasture raised eggs aren't cheap, but if you're referring to the conventional eggs, they're still cheap yes.
