I always wanted to be able to curl 135 like a boss but 95x8 or something equally unimpressive was my max
E: to be clear, I never maxed out bc body English would take over and make it a bad lift so 5-6 reps was as low as I’d maybe go
Same here, PV.
I've curled 65-lb dumbbells for a half decent three reps per arm [while on cycle in 2006, if I'm not mistaken].
I've also curled 105-120 for reps...but I think arm curl strength is pretty strongly genetic, and it's the one lift that never really went up much past my early gains. Perhaps if I went up in body weight they would.
I was curling 85-lb on the Olympic bar two weeks ago.
I'm going to use perfect form this week and shoot for the "mind muscle connection", and do a final set with 95-lb, just to see what I can get.
But as long as my form is sound and focused, I'm not going to worry too much about the numbers - I'd like to bring my arms uota bit, and arms aren't that important for overall strength, so I think I will be training them mainly bodybuilding-style this year.
